They have dedicated their lives to building festivals for children, in Zlín they received a special award

Dimitris Spyrou and Jerzy Moszkowicz. Two prominent figures of children's film received special awards for their lifetime contribution in Zlín yesterday. 

The last day of the professional programme culminated in an exceptional meeting with two founders of prestigious and respected film events in Europe. "Dimitris Spyra from Greece and Jerzy Moszkowicz from Poland have dedicated a significant part of their lives to building festivals for children and youth, and were therefore honoured for this contribution during the meeting," said Markéta Pášmová, artistic director of the Zlín Film Festival. 

Dimitris Spyrou is the founder of the Olympia International Film Festival in Greece and led the festival as artistic director for 26 years. Jerzy Moszkowicz is the founder of the Ale Kino! International Film Festival for Young Audiences in Poland, he was the head of the festival for 32 years.
